In school I worked at Green Greeks until I got my certs Enterprise Incident Response (GEIR) and Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) and got on at Ionis and then was a lead at Dreamhost for 7 years. We worked with 2 leads and 2 Jrs. Leads mostly dealt with PCI and the Jrs did other abuse issues.

Business was good for us we were the #1 recommended WordPress host and last October there was a huge blow up with WordPress and us and another host were no longer recommended at all. That hurt our new business our old clients were faithful but not many issues and it just kept getting worse and I was let go with $25k severance. So as of now I’m testing this site for a friend for free, lol. I have other clients on AWS and google just consulting and just for major incidents.

All the places I’ve worked have been pretty decent and good pay and I’m still in my prime and just drifting until the right full time job opens up but hiring has been flat. Even with my certs & experience I don’t know what freshers are going to do.
